To get to Caen follow the A13 motorway or N175 from Paris or Rouen, the N13 from Cherbourg, A84 from Rennes or N138 from Tours and Le Mans via N158 at Sees. To drive to Bayeux from Paris, take A13 to Caen and E46 west to Bayeux.
Get around
To get around the region a car might be useful. The trains here can’t really be trusted, not because of tardiness, for most trains respect a certain timetable, but for the fact that most regional trains don’t really go very far. The department itself is very secluded and even if you do travel by car, you’ll find that some places in the region are just as hard to reach either by car or train.
